Dear Year 5,
We are so happy that everyone is back at school! It is such a pleasure to see all of your smiling faces again. We know that coming back to school might feel a bit strange, particularly if you have been learning at home for a long time, but please don't worry. We are here for you to talk whenever you need to and all of the Y5 team are doing their best to ensure a smooth and happy transition back to our regular learning.
On the team, there are four of us:
Mr D. Toombs (5T teacher)
Mrs C. Charlton (5T teaching assistant)
Mrs J. Dodd (5L teacher)
Mrs P. Dornom (5L teaching assistant).
Please do feel free to get in touch via Seesaw, the school office or with a note. We always endeavour to reply as soon as we can.
Happy learning everyone!
Our learning in Spring 2
Between now and Easter, we will be concentrating on the following topics:
Maths: fractions
English: explanation texts (using the very jolly Wallace & Gromit's Cracking Contraptions as our text)
Art: printing and using Andy Warhol's work as inspiration
Computing: debugging code
History: the life of the Vikings
Science: Earth and Space
PE: (Wednesdays and Fridays) fitness challenges (often using our running track)
PSHE: using our new Jigsaw lessons, focusing on Dreams and Goals as our first unit
We hope you are enjoying our learning! Remember that we are always happy to answer questions.
