In Year 2 we have two fabulous classes: 2B taught by Mrs Baptiste and 2C taught by Miss Clemence.
We always have lots of fun while we are learning and every new day brings something interesting and exciting!
As a memorable experience for the end of our Kenya topic Year 2 celebrated their Kenya Day. We had a fun filled day learning about the music, food and culture of Kenya. We started the day with a fantastic African drumming and dance session which was incredibly fun. 2B had a visit from Oliver Mc Kinlay's Dad who talked to them about his exciting travels. We also made some Kenyan food, bracelets and shields in the style of the Maasai people. In the afternoon, we invited our families in to watch us perform our Maasai dance and taste our yummy food. What an amazing day!
Look at all the exciting times we have had this term!
We have been very busy this term and have learnt a lot! We had a visit from an alien, we have learnt lots about plants and animals, we have learnt lots about Kenya, Oliver Sapsed's Dad came in to teach us about some amazing animals and we went to the zoo!
We had an incredibly fun trip to Paignton Zoo. We saw lots of the animals that we have been learning about in Science and we talked about where they come from, the habitat that they live in, how they have adapted to their habitat and what they eat.
We had a fascinating lesson in the Education Centre about Habitats and Adaptation. We were even able to touch some parts of the animals that we could see at the zoo: we held an elephant's tooth, a giraffe's neck bone, camel's fur and much more.
Our Spring term started with our very exciting Science Week.
We have learnt all about sound energy, how sound waves are vibrations and how the ear works so that we hear sounds.
We had two amazing Science sessions with Dr Jackson, where we learnt more about sound energy and about human energy.
