Kingsbridge Community Primary School P.T.F.A
What are we trying to achieve?
The purpose of the PTFA is to support and raise funds to enhance the quality of our children’s education and to improve their school life. To achieve this we have a programme of fund-raising events and activities, which are held throughout the year. This programme of support is continually reviewed to ensure the changing needs of our children are met.
Who are we?
Every parent with a child who attends Kingsbridge Community Primary School is automatically part of the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association. There is a core committee of parents, staff and a governor. New members are always welcome, but even if you do not wish to become a committee member, we always need helpers at events and would welcome any help offered.
The greatest help you can give to the PTFA is to attend and support our events! If you think you can organise events or if you would rather offer occasional help, that is fine too! Please take a look at Form 5 at the back of the Prospectus.
What do we do?
We give cash support to school events such as the annual leavers’ party, visiting theatre groups and Christmas parties. We also part-fund the children’s coach travel to and from external trips.
We raise money through fun events, such as the Christmas, Easter and Summer Fairs, from the Auction of Promises and school discos.
We also provide funds for items not usually provided for by the local authority and during the past few years, this has included:
| * new PA system | * chess sets for school chess club |
| * football strip for school team | * football nets and posts to conform to FA regulations |
| * funding for school trips | * funding for music stands for school orchestra |
| * dictionaries for KS2 pupils | * wet play equipment and funding for the School Council play-box scheme |
| * playground area for Foundation Class | * plants for the new building |
| * picnic benches |
