About the Governing Body

The Kingsbridge Community Primary School Governing Body is made up of teachers, parents, local authority and community members and we work together with the Head Teacher and her staff to ensure that standards at our school are continually improving.

There are 15 governors who make up the Governing Body.  Governors are elected for a term of four years and we meet regularly and try to get in to the school as often as we can.

The overarching aim of the governing body is to ensure that every child who attends Kingsbridge Community Primary School achieves their full potential in a happy and safe environment. To achieve our overarching aim, the Governing Body has four main roles:

  1. To provide strategic oversight of the school.

  2. To act as a ‘critical friend’ to the Head Teacher and Senior Management Team, offering support and advice but also providing a level of challenge to ensure that all decisions are made in support of the school’s strategy.

  3. To ensure accountability of the Head Teacher and staff for the school’s academic, pastoral and financial performance.

  4. To ensure the financial sustainability of the school by setting and monitoring the school’s annual budget.

We are very proud of our school and of our amazing children and dedicated staff. The school offers many fantastic opportunities for our children to learn and play and this is supported by a belief in a broad and varied curriculum.

If you would like any more information about the governing body or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (Chair of Governors) or  (Clerk to Governors).
